Live updates: Senate stares down another shutdown vote

The Senate on Monday is set to vote for the 11th time on the stopgap funding measure to reopen the federal government.

Military pay will take center stage once again as Senate Majority John Thune (R-S.D.) looks to force Democrats to vote on the Trump-backed effort, part of the GOP’s uncompromising shutdown strategy.

Senate Democrats on Capitol Hill, meanwhile, will likely field questions on this weekend’s “No Kings” protests as some centrists express weariness over the massive anti-Trump rallies amid the funding stalemate.

At the White House, President Trump met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The duo signed a rare earth minerals agreement as the U.S. races to catch up with China’s sector dominance ahead of a bilateral lunch.

Later in the day, the Louisiana State University baseball team will stop by the White House in honor of their 2025 National Championship win.
