Lainey Wilson Gives Rimzim Dadu Look a Western Spin for CMA Awards 2025 Press Event

Lainey Wilson geared up for her 2025 CMA Awards hosting duties with a press conference in Nashville on Sunday, giving a Western spin to a design by Indian designer Rimzim Dadu.

Wilson, styled by Alexandra Madelkorn, wore a sleeveless black fringe top with a plunging neckline and soft, sinuous lapels for her outfit by Dadu. The fringe-forward top featured delicate beadwork, creating the decorative strands and cords on the top of Wilson’s look.

The coordinated pants followed suit, featuring a solid, soft black fabric with the same beaded fringe detailing running down the front pleat of the pants. Wilson coordinated the look with shoes featuring a silver pointed toe and a bolo tie with a turquoise pendant. Furthering her country core finesse, Wilson wore a black cowgirl hat to complete her look.

Spotlighting international designers has become a cornerstone of Wilson’s approach to fashion. Back in July, the “Hang Tight Honey” singer turned to Rahul Mishra‘s spring 2021 couture collection for her attire at the “Lainey Wilson: Tough as Nails” exhibit at Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The look blended ornate embroidery with a Western spin, merging high fashion with Wilson’s countrified finesse.

Rimzim Dadu’s design acumen follows a “progressive texturist” sensibility, per the designer’s official website. Deconstruction and ingenuity with materials are at the forefront of Dadu’s luxury and ready-to-wear clothing creation. The designer founded her eponymous brand in 2007.

Wilson herself has made her own foray into the fashion world, with collaborations with brands like Wrangler and the introduction of the singer’s own Western boot brand Golden West, under the creative direction of fashion industry veteran Michael Petry.

“After the whirlwind of the last few years, it feels great to jump into building a brand from the ground up — especially something that is so authentic to who I am — and have a creative outlet outside of my music. It’s a way to express myself through something I have worn all my life,” Wilson told Footwear News via email in September.

Wilson will host the 2025 CMA Awards on Wednesday night, with a live broadcast from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on ABC. Little Big Town and Keith Urban are slated to perform, with entertainer of the year nominee Cody Johnson also taking part.
