Hollywood Curls, Updos and Crops Ruled The Oscars 2025 Red Carpet

Hollywood’s biggest night certainly didn’t go small on hair.

The styles, as plentiful as the talent on the red carpet, ranged from Miley Cyrus‘s loose waves to the close crop on Emma Stone.

Stone was joined by Isabella Rossellini, who sported her short, wavy ‘do accentuated by pearl and diamond earrings. Stone kicked off awards season with her new haircut at the 2025 Golden Globes, and Doja Cat closed out the season by keeping her hair similarly short but bleaching it all.

Julianne Hough also sported an ear-length hairstyle, with Marilyn Monroe-esque side-parted curls and bangs framing her face and red lips. She’s not the only one who kept it short. Selena Gomez donned a just-above-the-shoulder bob with a similar side part and the ends flicked out.

For a few starlets, the happy medium seemed to be the updo: shown best on Elle Fanning and Margaret Qualley. Frontally, Qually’s slicked-back hair mirrored that of Ariana Grande, but a quick turn showed an intricate pin-up that allowed her to showcase her plunging diamond necklace and backless dress.

Then, there was a handful of attendees who left things a bit more natural. Case in point, best actress nominee Demi Moore showcased her waist-length waves and signature middle part, while Zoe Saldaña married the middle part with shoulder-length soft waves.

And though his hair might be shorter than the rest, Omar Apollo dialed the glamor all the way up. With lines combed through his hair, and then topped with a birdcage veil that didn’t obscure his smoldering eye makeup.

Here, the best hair looks from the 2025 Oscars.
